Feminine Wisdom, Compassion, Healing, Abundance
The compassionate goddess White Tara offers guidance and protection to all on their journey across the ocean of samsara. Samsara refers to the world which, perceived by the eyes of the ego, is an illusion. She will protect you while filling your heart with love and compassion. Her white form is invoked especially for the blessing of long life. She holds a blue lotus (the utpala) with one hand while with the other makes a gesture of giving. She has a wisdom eye on her forehead, "action" eyes on her hands and feet, and the crown and ornaments of a tenth stage Bodhisattva on her head.
Suggested meditation for a life that is long, healthy and wise:
Relax your body; breathe slowly and deeply allowing your mind to clear. Visualize White Tara sitting in front of you. Imagine a blue light emanating from her seven eyes and flowing in beautiful ribbons of light into your heart. Allow this light to fill your whole being and surround you as you repeat 108 times (you can use a bead mala) the mantra: "Om tare tuttare ture mama ayuh punya jnana pustim kuru svaha!"
