A Secret Path: The True is always so; the False never shall be. Is there one truth for the west, another in the east? Religions arise and witness for the Great Mystery which is everywhere present, but they quickly diverge in their language and story, for each is shaped and colored by the temperament of a particular people and place.
The wise know there are patterns and paths that never change. The Great Maze is a map of one such path, a true map whether graved on pagan standing stone or set in the center of a Christian cathedral. It shows the hero's journey, the soul's journey, that begins the hour we awaken and know with certainty that it is our journey. We proceed, winding our way through the world towards the great Unity at the very center of things. Sometimes we advance inward with a rush of progress, then round a corner to find ourselves skirting the bleak edges of Outer Darkness.
But there is another way.
Call it the secret way. A sudden unearned miracle; we slip the boundaries and fly straight to the center into the deathless land, the vast open space of the Mystery. This is called the Way of Grace, and many other names besides.
May the wandering and the wayward awaken to the struggle of heroes! May the struggle of heroes be tended by the flight of grace! May the world be made whole, even as it was in the beginning!
