Text on back of card:
All Alive: Root, branch and twig; why does the art of these Celtic people so entrance the eye? The interweavings, the wayward patterns, the astonishing delicacy - all echo the wonderful complexity of nature, worlds within worlds. At the same time there is the presence of the Old Ones, and powers and principalities to stir the blood, and whisperings of a hero's realm where spirit-power moves easily. We are much more than we thought we were.
If we would, the eye is opened, the heart as well. Where once we saw only an inanimate world of things, suddenly lifeblood pulses, and a dull weight we had long forgotten falls from our shoulders: It's all alive, all conscious... it's all consciousness!
This Celtic art is a sacred art that has risen out of the West, and like all sacred art, it invites those who would to venture deeper, to find the precious moment when a veil lifts. There is a turning around, and in the simplest thing there is a window opening to the indwelling mystery of That by which All else is Known.
May our sight be single, may we see the way things are.
