Submission GUIDELINES

Thank you for your interest in Amber Lotus Publishing.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND ARTWORK SUBMISSIONS:
We review artwork and photography submissions primarily between April and June but will accept submissions at other times as well. Please be patient for our response. We receive a large amount of submissions and have a small staff so it can take six months or longer for us to give your submission its proper consideration. Submissions received July to March will have a longer response time.

We request that you do not call to check on the status of your submission. If you require confirmation of receipt of your submission send your package by certified mail, return receipt requested. No other receipt confirmation will be provided.


Artwork submissions must be thematically based and relate to each other as a series or body of work. We look for image series that will also be thematically compatible with our product line. Photography submissions can cover a broad spectrum of imagery but should be compatible with our product line.

Photography and artwork may be submitted either electronically or through the postal system. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

• Electronic Submissions are preferred and are likely to receive a quicker response.
• Email with a PDF with a sampling of your work to , OR
• Email three images as jpgs (no larger than 100K each) to , OR
• Email a link to your website to
• Make sure your name and contact information are included in your email.

• Send a nonreturnable CD with low resolution jpgs that can be opened by a Mac, OR
• Send nonreturnable color proofs or prints no larger than 8.5" x 11" to:

• Include a self-addressed stamped envelope for your submission response.
• Make sure your name and contact information are on all materials sent.
• Do not send originals, slides, transparencies or anything of value.
• Do not send oversized materials larger than 8.5 x 11 inches.
• Submissions will not be returned. Do not send anything that you wish to have returned.

BOOK SUBMISSIONS:
Please note: At this time we do not accept text for greeting cards.
Amber Lotus publishes books, gifts and sidelines in the areas of Eastern and Western philosophy, art, religion, spirituality, world cultures and metaphysics. Send book proposals to:

Book Proposals should include:

• A cover letter giving a brief description of the project and the materials included in the package.
• Your proposal, including outline, introduction, illustrations list and sample chapters. There is no need to send a complete manuscript unless it is specifically asked for. Proposals with sample chapters are reviewed much faster than thick manuscripts.
• Sample illustrations or photographs (DO NOT send original images: you may send CDs, but they won't be returned).
• As specifically as you can, tell us who the audience is for your book. Include title, publisher and publication dates of all similar books with an explanation of how your book differs from each.
• Author/illustrator/photographer biography that includes publishing credits and credentials in the field.
• We cannot return proposals or manuscripts unless they are accompanied by a self-addressed envelope stamped with sufficient postage. Materials sent from out of the country cannot be returned.
• Make sure your name and contact information are on ALL MATERIALS sent.
