Elizabeth Olwen is a Canadian print and pattern designer living in Lisbon, Portugal. She creates illustrations infused with heart and soul, with the intention of spreading beauty and amplifying joy. Inspired by the world around her — from Canada’s dense forests to the colors and tiles of Lisbon, as well as her exuberant travel adventures in between — Elizabeth’s mindfully crafted artwork is driven by her desire to leave something beautiful behind with every step she takes.
Elizabeth’s obsession with patterns began as a child. She was mesmerized by the orange floral drapes, matching floral wallpaper, and Formica table in her mother’s kitchen. She was surrounded by prints that were bold and unapologetic, and patterns were something that she could lose herself in — a window to faraway places. To this day she still has a love of wild 1970s patterns.
