Carol Muthiga-Oyekunle, also known as Lolita Lorenzo, is a Kenyan American artist whose stunning portraits radiate power and beauty. She conceived an “intergalactic Afrofuturistic time-traveling woman warrior" as an homage to courageous African women who craft textiles to support their families. Their patterns with vibrant colors became part of her design aesthetic. And their perseverance showed her that empowered women can change the world. This collection of portraits depicts strong women in a fashion editorial context, drawing on organic forms to create their fantastical "body armor couture."
